Yes, it is safe. I can say this with 100% positivity. (I am not a medical doctor and this is not advice. Anomalies can happen I'm sure).
I have a pacemaker/defibrillator and have played around with it to see if it detected the implanted device. Sure enough the F-Pulse would start vibrating/ beeping at quite a distance away! Now I didn’t get real close for obvious reasons but can say from my experience it is safe. Totally understand your question and hopefully I have helped.
