F-75 to V3

I have. For raw power, I think the F 75 has it over the V3, but I've only begun to start tweaking my "Vision". Therre is so much to offer on the V3, it's mind boggaling. It will take some time to figure the beast out. But for now, I will continue to use my F 75 for relics. Ask me again in about six months :clapping:

keep on diggin'

Hi jimmyk!

Have you ever tested the F75 and the V3 on a common deep target, either in a test bed or in the field? I'm interested in how you feel the two detectors compare.

when comparing them on a deep target. Lower the tracking on the v3 to the 5 band and swing slow. You might also play with the sens, raising it and lowering the RX gain.

A buddy was not happy with the way the V3 was not hitting a minnie buried at 10" for 20 years... he finally lowered the tracking and slowed the swing and was getting a good tone an ID even with the coil 6" off the ground.

If you must swing fast... the F75 will be better for you I think. I keep a T2 for times when time is limited and the place is big... The ET and the Tejon will also work fast when time is a problem, but not as fast as the T2/F75... but if the place is trashy or the ground is really bad, the T2/F75 can be a problem, if there is a lot of iron, the Tejon is best... BUT when time is not a consideration, you can hunt a place over a long period of time, taking your time... I think the V3 can really sort things out... of course in a situation like that I would use all my detectors.

Depth isn't the most important thing to me and... speed plus depth = missed targets... I think.

... but if the place is trashy or the ground is really bad, then you put the 5" DD or 4x7" concentric coil on the F75 and swing it as fast as your brain can process the signals.

... or, if you don't have a small coil, set DISC=1 and listen to all the stuff, iron and all, picking out what you want.

This is an excellent statement! If I can swing the coil fast, then I cover more ground and can see more potential targets. The F75 is very odd in that it gets better depth and ID when swinging the coil at a moderate speed. The Minelab "wiggle" doesn't work with the F75.
