F-75, SOLD!:usaa::fisher: [This is for you, Bill, my Ladd]!

Went out today with my regular partner and carried my brother's DFX. I
KNOW the machine, as I put all the custom programs into it. It still took 10 minutes to figure out which sensitivity to turn down [high silver, 2 filter], VDi, AC, DC, or preamp. There are also buried power cables in the ground. Plus, when you need to change something else, lots of scrolling.
I ran full accept all conductive numbers except +94-95, and with sensitivity set at maximum usable settings, I could not pick up signals
my friend's Mk-1 or his wife's CZ-6A were hitting. [Actually I did not have it set-up right; it can be very complex and I have not touched a DFX in 4 years, so I really did not know what I was doing]. MY CZ & C$ were at home.
Its not even close, the F-75 by a KO!
But it will have to wait until I finish paying for my MGM-Newline Cinema
LOTR once in a lifetime collectible. But, Tinfoil will be around, so...:detecting:

Hi Tim

Just say the word, I'll send it right over to ya. :)

Are you going to try and metal detect in that special new suit you purchased recently ???

One of the problems with the DFX is that if you are in a site that gives you a ground phase reading around -85 and higher (toward -95), and you are using one of the dual freq modes, the DFX cannot be ground balanced to the site. Oh, you'll go through the motions and think you are but in reality it defaults to a preset at both the ferrous and conductive ends of the ground range.

And again, if you are using the single, 15kHz mode in that type of ground it will allow you to ground balance to the ground, however, now the ground balance kills the weaker signals.

End result, if you are using the DFX in a site where the ground phase reading is between -85 to -95 only the single 3kHz mode will actually perform decently but again you lose performance in other areas.

Bottom line...there is ground where the DFX just plain sucks and there isn't anything you can do about it

Happy :detecting:

They cut back on transmit sensitivity because of the fact that multi-frequency units draw much more current. Did they think that people would not be able to put in another battery pack?

I have $6,000 more dollars to come up with first, so I'll bug Tinfoil-he can't hunt with 15 detectors at one time.:punch:
