F-75 coin settings

Jeremiah

New member
I was just wondering what would be good settings for coin shooting school yards and parks with GB at 52-58. I was advised that I can only carry a 6in. digging tool. I want to find rings but cut back on the depth. Thanks in advance.

I don't know about cutting back on the depth, even if it might be possible. I would simply dig the shallower targets and let the F75 run at peak proficiency, in your soil. HH jim tn

Set your motion sens to 55, pin-pointing to 50 and your disc up to 22.
Tones 2, process De.

Disc 22 may require an extra point or two for foil elimination, but will preserve your ring finding abilities.

Watch the depth display and confirmation graph....dig those targets that give at least as high a reading on the Conf. bar as on the depth bar. Remember, the depth bar is 12 to 8, 8 to 4, and 4 to zero inches.

If your GB is between 50 - 60 then that should be a nice black loamy soil...(?) Good for detecting with little ground noise generated.

That's a sweet and gentle program
Dig only two way' targets.....Good luck.

You will succeed at these settings, and conform to the requirements you've stated...believe me......MattR.UK

So . . . do more digging??? Inch by inch - each job's a cinch. I don't see how the size of the tool limits the depth, or the size of the hole (As Mae West said . . . ).

I dig 12" deep holes with my 7" Lesche all the time.

There was this one time . . . at band camp . . .

You should see how deep I get with a post-hole digger that only has 12" spoons. (Setting fence posts, that is, not MD)

& smaller objects like rings. So when you pinpoint you'll know the depth & if you see a 11" reading you can let it be. Turning down your sensitivity will solve 2 issues. You will have not dig as deep and you will have a nice, smooth, quiet ride (or less chattery). Maybe around 50 or so. BC or DE mode. Try to experiment with some jewlery to see where rings read. Most coinshooters like to turn their disc up to cancel trash, but if you do that you cancel the gold rings you seek....
So, you may have to play with notches. But again, notching too much trash will eliminate the rings. Many successful gold ring hunters have dug alotta trash to get them. Gold will read foil, tab, etc. So, that's why I say run some runs under the coil, see what they read and then decide if you want to notch a few area's or run with just iron canceled.
Good luck,
Bill

You will have to literally dig hundreds of pulltabs. Sometimes in a yard though, I'll dig everything above foil....Best to you, Richard
