Hi, all:
I've hunted a West Central Missouri civil war Winter camp for the past three years and have done quite well with several machines. It was considered "worked out" three years ago. Of late, finds weree becoming very scarce. The camp is easy to grid off. It's on a slight slope and ranges from 75 yards wide to 300 yards long. It's pasture land with no tress or obstructions.Every year I grid it off and hunt it. Last year I used the F 75 with O disc. sens. 85. 2 tones. Finds have dropped off significantly. Late last Fall I decided to start hunting in All Metal mode and listen for deep bullet signals. Winter hit and until this week I wasn't able to return. The weather has turned off nice, so this week I was able to hunt the camp again for the first time this year. Conditions were perfect. Moisture in the ground and with cattle in the field, the grass was very short. Like hunting my living room carpet. I hunted the camp the last two days with amazing results. The largest bullet was one .44 cal. colt pistol bullet. The rest were about .36 cal. or smaller. No larger bullets. All were from six to nine inches deep. Found 42 bullets in two days. The sens. was 85. Most of the bullet sounds showed no reading on the screen. They just sounded good. The signals were mellow and even from all directions. If the signal was clipped or a little ragged, it was iron. The camp is generally not too trashy, so this mode of hunting is productive. Obviously, a trashy area would prohibit hunting strictly in all metal. But when conditions allow, this is the mode to get the best depth out of your F 75. At least in my gound. GB ranged from 58 to 62.
Thanks for looking, and keep on diggin'
