F-70 VS F-5

the F70 goes deeper than all the other detectors I've used which include the MXT, XT50, XT70, Troy X2, Troy X5, CZ5, CZ6a, 1266X, Garretts and Tesoros. Never have used the Exp or Sov

I have taken the F5 and F75 out head to head. In Calif we don't get as much depth as some of you but inch for inch the F5 was almost as fast as the F75 unmasked most targets as well as the F75. If I was going to get one detector only it would be a F75 or 70 so I got the F5 as a back up. It is great at schools and parks and does a great job relic hunting. I have a lot more testing to do but it won't replace the 70 or 75.

I think the F5 is a GREAT little beeper...and a good choice for the bux.... but if I had to make a choice between the F70 and the F5 for a backup for my F75....it would be the F70 hands down. The F70 not only has the feel of the F75......it acts a LOT like it with the DD coil on it. Plus...the F70 has the SL mode...which isnt on the F5. As of right now.there is a better coil selection for the 70 too. (same freq and coils as the F75) Depth and separation is good on both the F5 and F70. The control panel on the F5 is fantastic too though..and obviously is the result of a LOT of thought by the designers. Hard to make a choice.....as both are good machines............BUT....................my first choice would be the F70 for reasons stated. Streak!
