F-5 speaker trouble?

Kos

New member
Was wondering if anyone else has been having any trouble with their speaker not working. I have been using my headphones more and more, but when I decide to pull the plug on the headphones, I get no audible response from my speaker. I took out the batteries and still got nothing. Manny hours later, I went and turned my F-5 on and the speaker was working again. I am not liking the idea of having to have to send it back for repair, since this is my first detector and I don't have a back-up. I also have been hunting more and more in AM mode. I have finally found silver too. 1936 merc, a 56 Rosie and a nice silver ring with two black stones and one diamond like stone (unk on the types of stones yet). If anyone else is having trouble with getting sound from their speaker, or have sent their Fisher in for repair, please let me know. I don't want to go without my detector.

Markg,

Thanks for the post. I usually hang my machine up in my basement, upside down. I turned it on and my audio was working again.
