he we go again-was told that the 4 inch and the 8 inch coils that are on the f 2 and f 4 -will work on th f 5 ?????????????????? ---l do not have these coils to try them on my f 5 ---dino

I have the 11" DD that works on the F2, and F4 that I am going to be trying on my F5.

I had tried them out on the F5, with not so positive results. You will loose about 1/2 the depth by using them.

I do believe shortly there will be optional coils designed to work with the F5 ???

Does it really make sense to bring out an 8" coil when the 10" elliptical coil it comes with isn't 10", it's more in the 9" arena (whoever measures some of these coils must have some great fishing stories, and don't ask his wife about size

A 6" like the six-shooter on the F70F75 would seem to make more sense, or a nice elliptical DD like the F2/F4 or F75.

Lorenzo I know you like the DD on the F75, but doesn't it have a propensity to ID bottle caps as coins ?

Just curious as that seems to be a con on all DD's that I've tried, but their awesome for ground coverage (the F4 with the DD is a coin rake).

I just picked up the F70, but am not too sure about getting the DD for it yet. I wouldn't mind trying one before dropping $160 on one.

I do more relic hunting where caps are never a problem.

Even though it does plug in ok it doesn't id properly and gets less than half the depth.

So we wait for Fisher to provide the coils.

Now to decide what to do with that coil......hmmm.
