I didn't find any silver today, but I did eyeball this nice medicine bottle. I wish I was a better photographer...
It reads:
Dr.H.S. Thacher's
Worm Syrup
Chattanooga, Tenn.

It appears to have been a lone bottle, nothing else this early was near it. It took a lot of water and shaking and gentle prodding to get the dirt and roots out of it. It is nice and wavy with some big bubbles in it.

I'll take it along with my 28 cents in clad. My hunting buddy got a 1934 quarter and a 1942 silver war nickle out of the same hole... Gonna have to put some more time into this site before I move on!

Any info would be appreciated.

Hi..
I am not sure when Thatchers started out but I'm guessing in the late 80s 1890s I have dug them in 90s dumps and privy's.The company may have been around until 1900.We find Bum steads worm syrups around here mostly.People had worms back then.Crazy :bouncy:
