Eye Ball Find on Bike Ride

I found this 925 silver ring while on a bike ride this morning. It was in front of a liquor store and I rode by doing about 25mph but I noticed it and doubled back.

Getting exercise plus finding silver at the same time, that's a win win situation. Nice find, it pays to keep an eye on the ground.

Yeah, i was a bike messenger in SF for a few years and you always have your eyes on the road. Looking for nails, and lost wallets.

Actually, since I turned 50 I’ve been going in for routine check ups. I got my eyes tested today and I have 20/15. The doctor said I’m slightly near sighted which some how works in my favor. I was already to pick out some glasses but I guess they can wait.

Good eye Zac. My wife is really short making her low to the ground and she is constantly picking up change in parking lots and stores, even bills on occasion. She has found a few rings as well. It is amazing what you can find if you are just paying attention.

I stumble across items of all sorts while biking or walking along parking lots quiet often.Money , tools, odd & ends and, some light jewelry on occasion. Finding a gold earring made me start paying more attention to looking down more. When I’m bored, I go out on my bike at night to cover more ground and pay attention to see If I can find stuff. I have found many of things at intersections & turn areas along roadways.Obviously I do this when it’s not busy. I found a nice pair of vice-grips about two weeks ago. Most finds is just loose change. i’ll Take it! Kinda cool finding things without using metal detector. Nice find Zac!

Similar results fo me also! I pay attention every since my first roadway find.It was 14k earring with emeralds!

Once I found an instrument in the road. It was a Haynes silver flute from the 70’ and it had a 14k gold head joint. I was making a left hand turn at a light when I noticed it. I had a red light so I quickly jumped out and grabbed it! It was in its case but the case had opened up. The flute was worth around 18k$. I used the serial number to track down the owner. He was very thankful to get his flute back. He gave me a $500 reward and bought me a real nice Yamaha flute. He plays in James Brown’s old band. The way he lost it was he left it on top of his car and drove off.

Zac, your story above reminded me of the time I found a bank bag in the road. Hoping it was stuffed with cash I was somewhat disappointed to find that they were all checks. I would have turned the cash - honest lol. At any rate I contacted the local police who identified and notified the company who owned it. A couple days later a guy showed up at my office with a $100.00 check for me. He was the messenger for the company and had set the bag on his roof and when he made a turn out of his parking lot the bag slipped off onto the road. He was very thankful and said that his blood pressure had now returned to normal.
