Extra mounting rods for extra coils

[size=large]Hi guys, and gals, I have just recently upgraded from a BH Quicksilver EX to the Pioneer 505, and I contacted the manufacture for a list of the available parts of my new detector. The reason is, I want to have an extra bottom tube and mount for the coils so that I can quickly change from the different size coils without having to uncoil the cable and remove the coil from the mount. What do you think about this option? So far I like the new machine, it gives me more options to finding stuff and leaving the unwanted items in the ground. I hunt both beach and land, and plan on doing some relic hunting once I find some likely locations. I live in south Georgia just 3 miles above the Florida border and north of Jacksonville. Hope to find some interesting things in the future. Nice to meet you all.

Ok, nobody wants to talk to me? Well I guess it just isn't that interesting, sorry.

Well, for me, spending money on extra lower rods and having to store them and carry them around etc is more of a burden and expense than spending 20 seconds unwrapping and re wrapping the cable each time I change.

Mr thumb, I own a teknetics Omega 8000 wuth the three coil pkg and i bought a lower rod for each of the spare coils and have been happy that i did.I change from the 10 inch elipical std coil to the 5 inch or 11 inch dd often and have found it easiier for me...Markmac

Thanks guys for your feedback, I am going to get the extra lower rods and mounting bolts, I just figured it would be less wear and tear on my equipment and would have extras in case the unforeseen damage occurred during use. I got the 4 inch coil and have ordered the 10 inch coil yesterday. I have the 800 number for the factory in Texas and talked to a sales rep. and he sent me via fax and email the complete replacement parts list for my 505 with cost and frankly the cost of the extra rods and screw/bolts is well worth the price for my convenience. As far as hauling and storing the extra parts, I like to take everything I need with me in my truck when I go dirt fishing and the extra components will make it easier for me to choose which coil is best suited for the hunt that day. Good luck on your hunts.

Mike
