Hi Guys,
Here is a couple of tests on gold chains using the 70 with 10 inch eleptical dd. and concentric 9 inch. Settings all metal, noise cancel 0, sensitivity 20 with high frequency coils. Thin chain laid out straight nothing attached 10 INCH DD 2.5 cm I.D. -4. Thicker chain 8c.m. I.D. 2. 9 INCH CONCENTRIC. Thin chain 2 c.m. I.D. -4. Thicker chain 10 c.m. I.D 2,4. It is interesting that here in Australia a week ago an exterra 70 on ebay sold for $1080 with 2 coils no control cover and the new price of $1230 and the postage of $40 a saving of $110 Australian dollars with no warranty. Better off buying a new one and getting warranty cover.
Regards Pinpointa.

One of the strange tings I found, when I had my XTerra 70, was that there was precious little difference in small target sensitivity between the stock coil and the HF DD. Where there was a noticeable difference was in ground handling. With the DD I could basically max out the sensitivity whereas the stock coil would overload at a bit over 2/3 sens. I also found that, with the stock coil, I could differentiate between our ferrous Canadian coins and iron trash where the DD couldn't. ..Willy.
