Extension Cable for SEF Coil

Some time back there was a link for an extension cable for the Sovereign. I really never thought I would need one so I never copied the link. Now i have the 12x15 SEF and I want to hip mount the Sovereign. Anyone have the link. I think it was a Radio Cable or something. Thank You

as I too like to hipmount the SOV/GT,,, and would like to hipmount a 12x15 SEF and not use a WOT coil. a 12-14" extension would be great!

I know Ralph at Sun Ray can make you up one to the size you want. Also these have the same connectors as microphones so if you could find a short extention it should also work.

Here is a link to a shop in the UK where I purchased an extension for my sovereign. It only costs

Cable used on Sovereign SEF coils is 4-coil power cable. Just buy some same size regular rubber coated power cable, solder it and put some heat-shrink tube with glue on it and you have your extension.

But keep in mind that the meter's cable has more pins than the coils, allowing the meter to run off the control box. You'd be better off just getting plugs with the extra pins and wiring them all up. That way you can use the extension with a meter as well if you want to down the road. Note, I haven't done this so don't take my word for it. So far as I can see there shouldn't be any problem in logic with using a cable wired with the extra pins even as a coil extension. I still haven't looked into what's going on with those pins on the machine yet. Sooner or later here as I approach building the custom meter.
