Export Disc Pattern

Several ways.......On the CTX 3030, select the Search mode with the Pattern you want to duplicate, make the other changes you want, use SAVE AS (instead of SAVE) and it will save as a new Search Mode. If you're in XChange2, pull up the one you are wanting to copy, make the changes you want, give it a new name, and save it. Then you can download it into the CTX 3030 with a name on it instead of a number. Or, from XChange2, you can export the program with the Disc Pattern you want into your PC, change the file name via your PC and import it back into XChange2 under the new file name. Then you can make the other tweaks you want by using XChange2. OR, you could export the program with the Disc pattern you want into your PC, change the file name via your PC, import it back into your XChange2, load it into your CTX 3030, select that new program, make the additional changes you want..... then SAVE those changes to that new program. Thanks for the info

I tried doing this in Xchange2 and it seems that even after changing the Name of the program, exporting it, and then importing it back, it still knows it's a copy of the original and won't allow me to have both programs.

To clarify, I made a program, hit export, it had a filename.mlf then I imported in xchange2, dragged into samples and it said "conflict detected". Even though the names in the samples were different....

After you pull up the one you want to copy, make a change in it before exporting and bringing it back in. Also, after you export it to your PC, you can change the .mlf file to whatever name you want before you take it back to the XChange2.

Here is what I have done in the XChange2.... Say you have a mode, in a collection folder named "Good". You want to make a modified version of the mode, but still want to have this unmodified one. Grab the mode you want unchanged and drop it in the FILE folder. If you check, that mode should now show as being in the "Good" folder and the FILE folder. Now click the one that is in the "Good" folder, make your edits, rename it, and SAVE. It should still be in the "Good" folder, with the edits and a new name. Now grab the original file that you stored in the FILE folder, and drop it into the "Good" folder. You should now have both files and both in the "Good" folder..........You do have to make a change with a setting, tone profile, or disc pattern, in the mode, in addition to a name change. If you happen to create a mode with all the exact settings as another mode, even though it has a different name, you will get an error message.

Wow, it seems that the options are endless as far as creating and/or changing MD'ing modes. I can't wait to get one of these machines.
Don......
