As time goes on, somewhere, the experienced Explorer XS user will get hold of the DFX and do a fair comparison.
The DFX, by all accounts so far, might actually make a good "backup detector", though I would rather another Explorer XS for that purpose.
And let me say before I go on that if the DFX does PERFORM and DETECT better than the Explorer XS, I will get a DFX.
So far, the only comment that I have seen that was made about comparison of the two detectors, in response to my post on another forum, is that:
"at least the DFX does not fall apart".
Yeah well, We could always use a broomstick to pretend we are detecting, 'cause a broomstick won't fall apart either.
Believe me when I tell you that it seemed like it was a response from a "little boy" with his hand on a "little toy" that claimed to have USED the Explorer XS last year and felt it was made to flimsy for his liking.
So at that point, the Explorer lost his favour.
Right now it seems that the DFX is probably his "flavour of the month". It has basically just been released after months of speculation.
The Explorer XS,has really got me hooked. I am very happy with it.
It is a really different detector that needs some one to actually duplicate it and better it before we find an equivalent or better.ThE Explorer is going to be a tough act to follow.
I like to keep abreast with what other detecorists find and it is alwys interesting to see what goes on the other brand forums.
A lot of people have been waiting for the "DFX" to arrive. They actually put off buying anything else until they tried the DFX out.
It happens with lots of things.
I believe it even happend with Explorer XS.
