Explorer XS audio selections

I am new to the Explorer XS. I read about the different audio choices and when I searched, I found mine was set in normal. I tried Audio 1, 2, and 3, and found that they seemed to draw out the signal - each one a little more than the last. Can someone explain the purpose of these choices and how one decides which to use? Is it personal choice or is there some scientific method to determine when to use one of the choices? I generally hunt with Ferrous tones selected and have deep off and fast off and my sensitivity in manual set as high as I can (usually in the mid 20s) uless it becomes unstable. I switch between screen (I set IM to -12) and the advanced smart screen with nails and bottle caps X'd out - the rest I leave open. Any suggestions would be of great help. Thanks

I have tried the audio one a few times and it is not one you want to use if there is alot of targets or surface targets. I find that it seems to work good for the deeper and weaker signals as you will hear some you may missed in normal if going too fast. I have found a few deeper signals that I couldnt even get a signal in pinpoint, but like I say it is not one to use with surface targets or alot of targets as it will draw out the signal so you may go over several and not notice them. I beleive I read in one of the books that it is designed for getting the deeper targets once you are a experienced operator.

I stick with normal sounds. I actually read in the book that Andy S. wrote for the XS where audio 1 is for trashy areas. I have played around with this setting some and it confuses me more than it helps me... <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)"> They say it takes alot of practice to get the hang of those audio choices. I'll stick with normal.
