Explorer XS - Any experience?

Hi guys,

I was wondering if anybody has any experience with the Explorer XS. Are there any drawbacks?
Thanks!

The biggest draw back is repairs. ML will only repair them IF they can find parts and they are getting fewer. The biggest thing you hear is about the shaft locks. I know a couple of guys that wont hunt with anything elce. They do really really well on the old coins. They dont have all the bells and whistles.... sometimes simple is the best.

Early models had problems with the plastic camlocks cracking and some audio problems along with the upper shaft not remaining tight in the top end. As Dew says I understand getting one fixed should it go down could be a problem due to lack of existing parts. As far as performance had its share of bells and whistles and even in quickstart it did well so it was a fine unit that performed well..

xs is the same like all the rest explorers, one different from SE is on XS Normal sound shorter and pinpoin witch I never use. the rest is the same, have XS and SE

I agree with the other fellows who replied tp your question 100%. Very good machines and the learning curve is not very hard. I just hope that if yours and I assume you have one or are thinking about getting a used one that it might not need any repairs down the road because XS parts are probably getting as scarce as hen's teeth.
