Well just had my Explorer looked at by my dealer and he was amazed that mine isnt working as it should, and was even more amazed with the crack in the shaft locking pin area. Anyway hes sending it back to be sorted out. Its been very in teresting to hear that the Explorer has been giving a few interesting results in the Australian Goldfields with people actually finding gold with it. Theres a new 15" coil coming out soon and it looks like the world of FSB is getting very interesting. Ill keep ya all posted as to what they find out with my machine.

Good luck and I hope that you get it back real soon. Just to help pass the time make sure you spend the time you would have been hunting doing research. Then when you get your Explorer back you'll have some really nice places to go test it out at.

Yep Im going to be doing some lots of research, Ive got permission to detect on a ladies property. She had a house built around 1850 which burned down last year and as far as I know no one has been over it with a detector. Its in a old mining town so who knows what I hope to find.

What on your Explorer isn't working as it should?
On mine the lower left screen button blanks out the screen when pushed and the tick and X don't flash on the advanced edit screen when you the push buttons to activate them.

Well when I brought my Explorer to the guy who sells MineLab detectors he looked at it, hes a guy with an electronics background and said more than likely there a problem with the coil or the coil drivers in the electronics, so I will have to wait till the end of the week to see what the story is. It the first time hes ever seen a problem with a Minelab Detector so that shows just how good they are(THE BEST), unfortinately he didnt have another coil to try it out with there so well i wait till it comes back.

Actually shes in her early 50's and I have known her for sometime through previous work in the wine industry, not that I do that right now, Im back in my trade as an electrician

around 1850,That is why he asked,I read that also and thought, wow she is old.

LOL, yep I just looked at my post and I made a typo, anyway this is group isnt about my grammar mistakes but about learning to use the greatest detector in the WORLD. Good on ya everyone for the info here its helped heaps.
