Explorer Tones

Hello all you Explorer Guru's,
As I sit here in the Frozen Tundra of Wisconsin I read and re read the Explorer manual and Andys book and yearn for the ground to thaw. I took the Explorer outside and started seeing what I could hear and it seems that the tones are quite different on differnt items. I actually found a dime about 3 inchs down and it sounded like the dime I air tested.
Does the Explorer change tones on deeper targets that are the same or does the tone stay the same for a Dime that 3 inchs or 10 inches deep. Just curious.
Thanks
Bill(Wi)

stays pretty much the same tone to the limits, just less volume, but when its on the fringes it may fade in and out
