Explorer threshhold question

Hi all,
I'm having a hard time figuring out the threshhold on my explorer. The manual says that a setting of 0 will be silent, but when I set it to 0 it is a low pitched hum, with 10 being a high pitched hum. Is this the way it is supposed to be? Thanks for any information.
Chris

Chris;
Sounds like you are making the adjustment in the menu (page 53 of the manual) this will change the pitch of the threshold.
to change the threshold volume adjust it with the up/down arrows on the face of the meter on the right side.
bring it to a just audible level for you and the hunting conditions.
The pitch is there for individual hearing requirements such as high frequency hearing loss
Hope this is helpful

Rick,
Thanks alot for the fast reply!! I'm just heading out the door to go hunt for awhile, and that little bit of info is going to make my ears happy. The threshold volume on my explorer is so loud that my ears were ringing after an hour...lol Thanks again and take care!
