explorer/sov xs2a pro w/- 15" wot

I am wondering what difference there would be between the explorer xs w/- 10" coil and a sovereign xs2a pro with a 15" wot coil, sunray dti 3 meter, and the customizing that is now available for the sovereign,as far as depth and target id accuracy goes.?
i have an explorer ,and am a patient person, but am finding it quite hard to learn.I know that a lot of times the harder the learning curve that is mastered the more rewards that come. Also i am a motivated fast learner, but still having a hard time.
I also read and try a lot of the postings.
Any advice?

And HH

Hi Steve,
How long have you had your explorer? At first it was pretty confusing to understand but after about a month of steady practice it started coming together. I remember times when i wanted to wrap mine around a tree and im sure glad i didn't because once you get the hang of it it will just blow your mind. I think the best thing i did was to get the 5 inch stealth from sunray and it really made learning alot easier as far as pinpointing and iding. A couple weeks with that coil taught me alot. Going to the local schools and digging up thousands of clads i did get the hang of it. All the different tones, watching the depth meter, trying different sens.and then getting and working the options. it just takes practice but its worth it. The harder the battle the sweeter the victory.

Thank you for your reply,Stan.
I agree the more harder the learning curve the better the reward.I have always been a fast learner, but i just can't seem to get the "light " to go on when it comes to the Explorer. But you are probably right about perservering,so i will box on.
Thank you

I have had mine not quite a year.I figured a 50 hr learning curve from the gitgo.Found some cool stuff early (beginners luck) get side tracked on what I like to do with th machine, not necessarily what what it will do.Hang in there,,cs
Go slow,

Hi Steven. I used to get discouraged with my Explorer with the 10" coil. It would confuse me. To many pan flute signals. I found myself hunting with one of my other detectors alot. Then I got the 8" Sunray stealth coil and the X1 Probe. Now I never use any other machine. I just can't wait to get out with the Explorer. Just my opinion. HH- Coinshooter65.
