I have using this detector for about 4 months now. Here lately after I have been out for a couple of hours the screen will begin flashing and I get a symphony of noises from it.Sometimes when I turn it off and then back on it will clear up.I have been using it in the same area so I am not sure if it might be interference or something like that.Any ideas?
Thanks

Hold it in the air and see if the disturbance has a rhythmic pulse. If it's electrical interference, it will happen while you are holding the coil off the ground. I had an old lake site I was hunting and the farmer had an electric fence that kept giving me false signals once a second. They always hit on different parts of the smart find, but they were spread about a second apart. This still occurred when I was 100 yards away. It just made the area unhuntable. I tried changing manually to each different frequency and every one still picked up the interference. I lowered my sensitivity and still picked it up. I don't know about other electrical interference, this was a low frequency interference, but if it were a high frequency, say 3 or 4 times a second, most people would think their machine was possessed.:yikes:

Thanks digirich..when I get back home I will see if it happens again and pay closer attention.I drive a truck so only get to use it a few hours a month so that is really stretching my learning curve.
