Went out for a while yesterday to my neighbors home with my friend OneidaKenny. Kenny located a nice button and a large cent and IH. No photos of coins or button yet.

What's that song, now I want to talk about me...
Found a total of 15 IHs and 12 of them in same hole?
Also this button, I have been looking at my "Record of American Uniform & Historical Buttons" by Alphaeus H. Albert, but have not found it yet. Also the CN coin and piece of clay pipe. Pipe pcs was in one hole with one of the IHs.

I think I located button in aforemention book. Pg 102 pic, info page 103 NA 115 Navy; 2 piece with border.

Albert's book often does not contain pictures of the military buttons I find. Sometimes the size is different, sometimes there's a small detail that's different. Yours is a U.S. naval button (see page 102), and the general pattern, I think, was used from the early 1850's through 1941. Kind of a bummer, as I'll bet yours is an earlier one.

Thanks everyone. Oneidakenny and I go out a lot and always have a "little" competition going. I took pictures of his finds today. Hope he post later.

I have prior to that day, found 5 IHs in 5 different places in about 15 or 20 years, just never had much luck finding any IH. The thing is I found one, covered hole up, gave Kenny the IH sign and stood up and coil was over hole and went off again? And history from there. Used X-1 probe to find the rest. I figures I would find some signs of old purse or something, just got to be some reason for that many IHS in one place?
