DIRT2

New member
Man I came to this forum to learn how to get the most out of my new $1200.00 detector and what I have learned so far is,it's not a good detector and really not and upgrade over the explorer2.Wish someone would post a few programs for some different soils please.I could have sworn this SE was the cats meow dam the bad luck.
All help needed and thanks in advance.

Dirt2,

As a brand new ESE owner I have found that the Explorer Classroom Forum is a good place for us ESE newbies to check out. (http://www.findmall.com/list.php?10). Do some searches on immediate questions and you will find many posts that are very imformative. Although most of them are written about the EXII, their explanations and theories also apply to the ESE. You can also get a good feel on how others are programming their units to match THEIR hunting enviroments. Good luck and HH

Don't be down on the SE it is the best out there in many ways. It is very adjustable with out to much work (easy menus), more stable and looks great. I havn't been able to use it over the same ground as the ESII but my seat of the pants feel is it is a better machine. I use the Sunray probe and would get the Swingy Thingy (whatever it's called)but I never seem to get more than a couple hours to detect. I havn't found anything great yet but I am hunting area parks that arn't very old 6 years or so. That doesn't mean there is nothing there as my friend found a real nice diamond earring the first time we got together. Mostly I am toying with settings to find what works best for me. The great thing about the Exp is you can make adjustment and there is little change in it's ability to find targets unless you are in discrimination. Work with it and it will grow on you.

Hi Dirt2,

I must agree with Redrock, don't listen to the "knockers" if you have an Explorer SE, you have made a very good purchase, having owned an Explorer II for the last 12 months, and in that time picked up $1000 AUD in clad coins plus 7 gold rings, a lot of silver rings and other valuables I can't fault the EX II, however only having about three and a half hours on the new SE I am confident that it's an improved detector and am looking forward to the next 12 months detecting hopefully the rewards will be on a par or better than the EX II

Happy detecting...Regards....Boony
