Explorer SE Beach Loot......

Got up before sunrise today and hit around the fire rings on a popular Southern California beach for three hours. I used the Sun Ray Stealth X-5 coil on the end of my Explorer SE. This is a deadly combo for hunting in heavy trash areas. And hunting around fire rings is about as bad as trash can get. I used the iron mask mode to get rid of the nails and dug just about every target. I was very happy to nab the large Tiffany necklace. It weighs over 2 and 1/2 troy ounces. On the Tiffany web-site, it retails for $295. The black Chanel ring just has glass stones. All in all, a good day at the office. Till next time, happy hunting, John

I been hunting in the heet and thing you have the right idea if you get hot jump in.Nice finds and good luck,

You don't find many guys using small coils on the beaches because of coverage. I'll have to remember your technique if I ever hunt around fire pits.

Don't know if we've met--I generally hunt Santa Monica & Zuma. Sounds like you might have been in the Huntington or Newport areas.

Anyway, nice finds!

Hi Bill, you are right on as far as the location. I would use the Coiltek 15" WOT coil in all other areas of the beach. Give the 5" Sun Ray a try around the pits and you will come out with some good finds. Till next time, Happy hunting, John
