Does anyone know exactly what functions are not on the "S" model that are on the "XS"?
I know the saved pattern function is left off.
Does it still have the "fast/deep" filters?
How about the audio variability?

It also doesn't have the automatic noise cancel, edit and learn features. I can't remember for sure but I don't think it has a backlight either.
 
Best to spend the extra $$$'s to get an XS, I know i found it worth while spending the extra dollars, headphones, charger, etc and a few more functions
 
Yes you have the fast/deep filter and the variablity control on the Explorer S.
 
I did find a website that listed the differences.
I had an XS over the summer, but I used it mostly as a second detector. Sold it a few weeks ago.
I may get one again in the spring.
I really never saved patterns & mostly hunted with an almost open screen, fast, gain 7 - don't see why an "S" wouldn't do what I want. I think I would miss the car charger and rechargable battery, though.
