Explorer power problems

I see quite a few posts with the explorer cutting out or powering off and on.. I have one battery pack that will reset on its own once in a while.. I am not sure if its the pack itself or it just isnt making a good connection.. for those having problems like this or any power type things happening.. I would suggest cleaning the battery terminals on your batterys, and when inserting the pack make sure it seats well, loose connections cause wierd things to happen.. What I do is drop the pack in by letting go of it straight down from aboyut the half way point on the pack.. letting gravity make the seat.. seems to make a good connection every time.. also be sure the seating lever is out so the battery cant slip away from the connections.. if you still have problems try another battery pack or use the AA pack to see if it makes a difference.. look down the battery holder with a flashlight to make sure the contacts inside are straight as well...

Trying a differnt pack has solved the ones i have seen as there was something internaly wrong with rechargeables even though they tested good.

I see to many posts with power problems and you have to make sure the tab on the pack locks into place when you insert it.In 1000's of hrs of use in all types of weather...sub zero to 100+ very dry air to 100% humidity I have yet to see a fault in the power source. The contacts on the packs can be rubbed with an eraser just to clen any build up,I only do it once maybe 2 times a yr.
