Has anyone made a replacement for their detectors. They dont look too difficult and sure dont look like 28 bucks + shipping. I am wondering if you can take a heat gun and get the factory rest hot and form it on a 4" sewer pipe or something.

I have just seen the metal ones that someone has posted about on the forum. They look good but im cheap so Im thinking like you. I may try and make one myself. The problem i see with modding the stock arm rest like you said is that it would thin out the plastic some when it stretches to form around the pipe. That would make it weak. But then again im not a plastic expert so what do I know. Someones has to be the first to try so go for it and if it works let us know and im sure some will follow and do your idea.
