Explorer in s-l-o-w motion with signals

At this one site in town it is really strange. It's like the explorer goes into very slow motion. I hear the sound in real time but it takes around 5 to 6 seconds for the display on the screen to catch up to the sound.
If I drop my sens down to around 20 or less the problem goes away.
There are some electrical wires on the south side of this field. Could they be the problem? They are not the huge tower lines though...just electric lines for the community in that area.
I've only found some modern coins (maybe two at best and only where people park their cars) in this small field where a motel used to be in the 1800's. I am sure no detectorist has beat me to it.
Of course no one ever said that coins have to be in a lot that is old but it just seems strange to me.
Any suggestions? I've been going super slow and yes there is some iron junk here and there.

tony,
maybe the crosshairs are in slow motion because there is so much junk there you can't get a threshold. everybody has told me the crosshairs can't move until threshold returns. ? ? good luck with the site. hh.

Go by the SOUND and use the Crosshairs only as a reference. Good Luck
Even without a Threshold if you go slowly the goodies will still come through.
