EXPLORER II

what are some of the "highs" and "lows" of the new Minelab Explorer II ?

virginia, just bought the ex11 3 weeks ago, but already can tell its good qualities when comparing to my previous high end detector. Its depth is awesome found a merc dime at 8 inches in a trashy area with no problem. found several other silver coins in a area that has been hit very hard by others. this machine works well in the trashy areas with a little tweaking and slow sweeps. If you get one though , get the x1 probe as it will save you frustration. Now the bad points. machine is quite heavy in comparison to other high end machines. its pinpointing with the stock coil is to say the least, challenging ,especially on deep targets. Not the best target id system out there but the most systems dont id that deep anyway. hopes this helps! you can email if have other questions. sincerely, jim p (MI)

I got my Explorer II in Feb and finding alot of coins I missed before. I am still running in the factory preset but and trying some of the posted setting a little at a time. It sure helps to be able to read what others have to say about the Explorer II.
I just wanted to say THANKS to all of fine people who take the time to help the newbies get started.
Thanks Alot all of You.

It's amazing what we had missed with the other detectors, eh? I find many coins in spots my other detectors said were iron...

I found one quater with a 10 penny nail on top of it at 6 in. I got a good high tone and it would come and go. What's one more hole???I wouldn't have ever heard this quarter with my old detector.
