EXPLORER II WITH II'' PRO COIL.

It depends on your skill level.... but most find it VERY helpful. These new coils have made possibly the biggest gain in detecting in some while. They are more stable with less falsing, better separation, and increased depth and sensitivity. I use the SEF... $60 cheaper. I think the biggest problem currently is getting an SEF or Pro because of back order. You will notice ALL the major companies are using these larger style coils... if they werent better they wouldnt be so popular. Sales are a booming.

I use a Exp II and have both the stock and Pro coil.I find that Pro is no deeper or more stable than the stock. The only real advantage for me is the lighter weight of the Pro,which on an Explorer can matter.
