I have a chance to pick up a used explorer II for a real deal. Just wondering the comparisons to an SE (WHICH I HAVE) Any info would be appreciated.

Well the standard coil is better than on the SE unless you have the Pro. A lot of people were getting good money for them before the SEF and Pro coils came out. Im a little late on this post but hopefully you picked up the deal. I think the XS is the sleeper of the Explorers, but the II doesnt seem to lock onto iron as bad as the SE. Minelab keeps putting out these more expensive bell ans whisels, but.... down and dirty the advantage comes down to the user because they all do a fine job. The Etrac to me just made it easier for the NEW user to catch up with us.
