Ok, I've been out of detectors for over a year, so is the II actually better & worth the extra$, and without listing a price..Who has one best price..
Thnx

Hi Dan, the physical improvements to the EX-II have been well received. The addition of a 1/4" jack plug, detector stand, 1600mah NiMH battery (1800mah is available as an option) and upgraded software with Ferrous-Conductivity screen is a plus. Not that the XS isn't a top model anymore (it is), but the EX-II is becoming a favorite model as well. As for pricing, I recommend finding a dealer who will be there after the sale. Good hunting, David @ Dixie

I used to have two Exploreer XS detectors.
I now have one Explorer MKII as I due to the good
reliability I was only using one of the XS machines.
If you are buying new get the MKii if funding is a problem get the XS as it in just as good on the actual detecting side.
The added refinements are worth having but csot quite a lot of extra money.
Happy Digging,
