Explorer II recovery

I saw a youtube video on the speed of the Explorer II.
A coin was placed between 2 nails very close and it picked it out.
Can someone tell me the pros and cons of the Explorer II and How it compares to the SE.
thanks
I am currently in a turmoil over which minelab to buy.
I had the X70 and the 705 and even the safari.

I get fooled by more iron with the SE than I ever did with the Explorer 2 . Sorry I sold my 2 . The SE is still a great machine but I seemed to do a lot better with the 2 .If I was in a better financial shape I would probably get an E-trac .

Well I have $625 right now but may 3rd I put another $560 and that's almost $1200.
Problem is there are so many deals out there it is hard not to buy but I might get the explorer II. I have seen Etracs that have sold for around that price.
I tried to get a GT but couldn't connect.
thanks for the reply

I think E-trac and the Ex2 are where its at. I hunt with an ex2. And I love it. There is a learning curve. But don't let it scare you. I am new to it. And am doing just fine so far. Got silver with it the first 3 hours of use. Pretty sweet machine. Kinda heavy. But I found you just shorten the shaft. And let your shoulder hang loose. I can hunt for hours this way. You can find em used for around 600 and up. Paid 650 for mine. And it was in perfect shape. Still had the box n everything. Came with the double D 1050 coil. Outstanding depth on it. E-Trac or EX2. Either one is a good choice. If its a matter of money. And you don't have lots to spend. Go for the EX2. Excellent machine!
Just talking about it got me excited. Im going to hunt!

Do you mean the Explorer SE test by Norfolk Wolf? If so, do some research on Regton and Norfolk Wolf. It may lead you to understanding that test

The problem with all of those tests is they show you what will happen if you walk up on a dime in between two nails on a board. They don't show you anything about what happens in the ground OR how to mitigate those shortfalls. Don't forget also, that they often set thier machine's up to maximize the issue they're trying to prove because they have some axe to grind (or sale to make).

shambler thats a good point. its a shame so many of these tests/examples are taken to heart as a tell all of a machines performance.
Ive always felt the best test garden is the areas you hunt, just pay attention to what your hearing/seeing on the screen and adjust your controls to maximize your target response and you will get to know your detector or get to know detectors very well. why not hunt and learn at the same time:detecting:

I bought 43 Minelab II's at an auction. The company trained people to locate and recover UXO (unexploded ordinance). These machines are well used but very functional. I have managed to cleanup and check out 20 so far and have sold 14. I am only asking $250.00 each. They come with the Explorer 1000 coil. I can ship US parcel post for around $20.00 insured. With that said......I just hunted a park that is FULL of iron and trash. I have pulled out about $2.00 + in change....some as old as 1966. I always pass over my filled in hole and so far about 90% of the time I get a iron signal near it. The signal separation is so pronounced as to make it too easy to dig good targets. :) To field test the units before sale, I just reset to factory and boost sensitivity to 20 and threshold to about 10....no other changes.

any explorer works very similar, safari is the same to, they are all not so fast metal detectors, but if you use them on all metal with minimum discrimination and not use to high sensitivity in trashy places, its very good detectors. buy any FBS they all similar, only ETRAC has some speed advantage.
