Explorer II Or Sovereign Elite Help Please

New member
I have used a Sovereign for 3 or 4 years now, but I have been thinking of upgrading to an Explorer II.

I just don't know if the Explorer is going to be better for for me than the Sovereign.

I like to coin hunt in old house yards or church yards and I have had really good luck with Sovereign.

If the Explorer is going to increase the olds of older deeper finds then I wouldn't mind the cost, but I sure would hate to spend the money and the time to upgrade, if I can't improve my luck.

I guess I'm asking, if you were going to purchase a new machine, which would you buy and why.

I don't mind paying more, but I want more for my money.

Thanks,

Randy

I would appreciate your honest answers.

I would go and buy yourself a new Explorer-II. A friend of mine had the sovereign and he finally decided to try the Explorer-II out. He was amazed that he could go back to his old spots and still pull Barbers,Seated,Etc. After this, he sold his sovereign and things have been better than ever for his finds since. Good Luck with what you decide to do and HH.

I had a Sov for a year+ and decided on the Quattro because it had pretty much the same depth as the Ex2. Read the evaulations on the quattro forum. When I first took it out it instantly showed me targets in the 10 to 12 inch range I had not seen on the Sov. One of those targets turned out to be a fuse I believe from a Civil war shell. The depth meter bottoming out is showing targets in the 12 inch range I believe, I am searching so deep now for targets I am amazed. I didn't even know targets were there with the Sov. It was good, the Quattro is really good. The detector is everything people have been saying on the forums. Turn it on, hit all-metal, and watch that meter drop to the bottom, your in territory a lot of people "aint" gettin to..............I really am enjoying this machine.

I guess I should have asked wheather you have preference of another Minelab detector.

I just assumed the Explorer II was the best.

What about the Quattro?

Do you like it better than the Explorer II or the Sovereign?

Thanks,

Randy
