experiencing the upper pole continually sliding down on the lower one? I find I'm starting to stoop and have to adjust the lock position several times in a hunt. Is there a tension adjustment on the lock mechanism, or another cure besides don't lean on it?

Gee I thought they fixed that with a nipple at least on the XS model...I have an early rod with no nipple and wrapped a piece of scotch tape around it where the camlock locks..Holds the standard coil well but using a WOT or other large coil still might be a problem as they are heavier...

I found out by accident that theres a small rectangular piece of aluminum that fits into the cam lock that provides tension when you lock it. Mine fell out and luckily I didn't lose it, you might want to try someting that adds to the thickness or see if your piece fell out. I noticed when I stand up from digging I have a tendency to lean on the detector a little, and mine has to be readjusted in the field.

Hi guys I bonded a thin second plate to the first one increasing the thickness to allow for the wear on the plastic cam and all is well.
Although not really neccessary once the cam lever is pressed tight if you wish you can ensure it stays in position position by using a plastic tie.
ATB,Jerry.

On the shaft..look it over and try to put one layer where the camlock locks..Don't own the 11 model and don't really know if they have a nipple..Perhaps someone can measure how far from the end the nipple is as it would help where to put tape....don't own one with a nipple on my XS so can't help...Don't take much and one layer should suffice...
