Explorer II digital screens

I just bought my Explorer II, and have upgraded from my XS. One of the reasons I did so was because of the digital representation on the screen, showing both ferrous and conductive.
I would appreciate anyone's input on how the use of the duo readings helps them, if at all, and secondly, is there anywhere on the list or elsewhere that will show an approximation of the readings one will get for silver/gold/rings/etc....?
Thanks,
Dennis

Throw some targets on the ground and see what they come in with your machine and ground mineralization. They mention 29 conduct and heck I never got a 29 reading on my XS..I think with some time in the field may be able to better judge what your after with two readings..Especially in the gold ring area...Myself never saw the need for 2 as I am basically a silver coin hunter and use the digital screen 28 or 30 Conduct and time to check the crosshair screen..

Most of my silver dimes & wheat's come in at 03-28. When you find a deep target, more than halfway down the depth meter, you'll get numbers like 00-26, 00-28, 00-29, 01-28, 02-28. I always dig these numbers. I got a buffalo nickel and a merc out of the same hole yesterday and the numbers were bouncing all over the place but I kept getting a nice high tone and the last set of numbers were bouncing between 28 and 29 so I dug it.
I go by the tone first and double check with the digital numbers.
Hope this helps,
HH Randy

WEll, I did some more research, and found this site, which has more of what I am looking for anyway, I think.......

One of the things that has driven me nuts, is the weird tones I keep getting. I got the new Minelab introduction class DVD, but alas, I am not impressed. It does not go into enough explanation of the tones that it generates. Digging every signal is what has to occur I suppose......sigh......
Anyway, the above charts give a great idea of what the sounds will be like......
