Explorer II detector mod idea...

New member
I was toying with the idea of replacing the stock switch on an X-1 probe with a "pressure switch", that is worked into the probe holder...In other words, when you pull the probe from the holder, it turns on, and when you place it back into the holder it turns off. That way, I'd never forget to switch the coil back on (or accidentally bump the switch) when I wasn't using the probe...Whats everybody elses opinion?

I think that is a Great idea! I am out there metal detecting more than I need to with the probe on and not the coil.

And actually a good idea if it can be done and applicable to most sunray probes made for different units.
