Explorer II and V3... Personal Preference

I went to a favorite location today and searched for about 15 minutes with the Explorer II. I have become so accustomed to the Vision/V3 that I am not nearly as proficient with the Explorer II as I was before spending so much time on the V3. The Explorer is a great machine, but I'm having so much more fun on the V3 that I will not use the Explorer again.

I did compare a few targets on each detector. Both detectors registered the good targets, but I was digging trash with the Explorer that I could easily identify and bypass with the V3.

... Just my personal preference.

I also finds the balance on the Vision easier to swing, and being new with all the doo-dads, it's hard not to swing the Vision.

Hi Wes....Thanks for the info. Not digging thrash is a very good thing. What kind of depth are you getting. I have a DFX and was never able to get the depth that is seems to be known for, even after reading the books and trying many different setting. HH Dennis

My experience with the DFX was the same. I prefer the Vision to any other detector I've used. The only nice deep find I've come across so far was a silver quarter at 7-8 inches . The only other silver I've found is a Merc at about 4inches. I only have about 40 hours on the Vision so far. Silver is hard to come by in my part of the country. I will say that hour-for-hour, I'm finding as much or more than I did with the Explorer.
