Explorer 2 issue resolved

I had some dead buttons on my new to me Ex2, Charles(UpstateNY) suggested taking the housing apart on disconnecting a cable. I separated the circuit boards, disconnected everything that was plugged in and reassembled the unit. I put the battery in and fired it up....everything is working as it should. I went ahead and ordered a replacement face plate from a guy in the UK, just to be safe and to have a new, unscratched screen. It should be here in a couple of weeks, hopefully I hear something soon about my CTX that's being repaired as well. Thanks again Charles for the heads up.

I have the same problem with my Explorer XS (bought in 2001), my pinpoint, detect and back buttons are dead.
I separated the circuit boards (2 boards + the connector between the control panel and the middle board), disconnected everything that was plugged in and reassembled the unit.
But the 3 buttons are not working again :sadwalk:
I will buy the replacement face plate from the guy in the UK.
