EXPLORE 11"DD VS. SEF 12" X 10" BUTTERFLY

I just purchase an Explore SE PRO. During my research I found out that 8"x 6" and 12" x 10" are better coils. So I purchase the 12" x 10" and found out they were out of stock on the 8" x 6". My question is what makes these 2 coils better than the 11"coils that comes with the unit.?

Is the 12x10 sef... deeper... Is it lighter..Is it more sensetive to small gold??................. How are you quantifying the term better?? IMHO.. the 11 pro-coil from minelab is a damm good coil period..I wouldn't switch unless you need more ground coverage hunting a beach.. for example..

You will dig a lot less iron junk with 10 X 12 and it will run smoother and find good targets closer to iron junk then Pro Coil, but if you are relic hunter use Pro coil

I agree with Prep, the 12x10sef is a lot smoother than the stock coil. I find I can run the sef hotter and still be stable. Separates better than stock and pinpointing is just as good. All around just a great coil. I haven't had the stock coil on since I got it. Also have the 8x6sef for the real trashy spots. Joe.

Bryce told me when I first started hunting...that it was his favorite coil and that he would never tell me or anyone to use it unless he believed in it 110%....and he DOES!

For me it is:

1) A lot more stable sound ID at depth

2) Less falsing when in iron

3) Slightly deeper here in IL at my sites.

4) Separates better

5) Sounds are much more crisp on the deeper silver.

6) I dig a LOT less iron with the SEF than I do the pro coil

7) I dig a lot less junk with the SEF than I do the pro coil.
