Explaining the low tones to a newbie?

I'm a newbie to MD and to the AT PRO. I'm never sure about the low tones and using the iron audio in conjunction. I'll hit a target with a vdi of anywhere from 33-44 with a low tone and when I switch to iron audio the tone changes to a higher tone. I've got my iron disc. set on 32. Should you get the same low tone if its iron? I've found alot of bottle caps digging some of those targets.

It sounds like you are in Zero Mode. In that mode you need to leave Iron off. Turning Iron on in zero mode you will get a high tone on everything. Try Custom Mode.

Well I'm a Newbie for some weeks now on the AT Pro,But getting to know the detector pretty fast.
I use Custom pro mode disc at 35 Iron audio ON.
And notch out the first pixel(Foil).
i even know the sound of a bottlecap.I do have problems with pulltabs/Coke cans.
Just take the time to get to know ur AT Pro,Its a great machine.
I'm Still learning more and more...

Thanks for the info. I've found pull tabs will repeatedly hit 53, coke cans, beer cans between 78-80, most of the time 80. Bottle caps will hit a pretty constant 45. I dug an old beer or soda can today that was not aluminum. I think it settled in at 78.

I've found quite a few nickels that read 53, so they're not all pull tabs!

I appreciate the info. I've dug 100's of pulltabs and they have all hit on 53. My nickels hit 51-52.
