Exp se plus new Pro-coil: good idea?

Dont know what you traded ... but you will like the trade. Excellent combo and no theres no difference. Now all you need is Andys book and you have a great start.

I bought an SE with the slimline right as the SE Pro was comming available (although I didn't know that). I was told the SE cost was going up $100 in a month, so I grabbed one. I wasn't told that the extra $100 would have gotten me an SE Pro. When I did a little research I realized that the only difference was the coil - so I bought a Pro coil. Cost me around $200. Could have saved $100 if I had gotten the straight info in the first place.
You've got a good rig and you'll be happy with it - just be patient and get through the learning curve like others have said. Good Hunting!

I contacted Minelab just yesterday regarding that same question. As per Minelab: "The only difference between the SE and the SE pro is the Coil. Same software, same hardware, same chipset."
