EXP II threshold blanking

TxGold

New member
I'm using factory settings for coins and my threshold blanks out alot. What causes that? Is my ExpII broken? I live in central Tx. Any help is appreciated.

Targets that hit in the black area of the screen are rejected. When they are rejected the threshold goes null (silent) which is how null threshold discrimination responds. Most of the nulls are caused by the black area at the upper left of the screen rejected. When that area, (Nails is selected to be accepted which includes the most ferrous iron), you will notice almost no loss of threshold. However, be prepared to hear a lot of hits in a trashy area being searched.

Cody, thanks for response. I do realize that the descrimination causes blanking but for some reason I'm getting alot of blanking. For instance, sometimes when I put the coil on the ground right in front of me I can hear the threshold just fine. However, the second I begin to swing either way, the threshold blanks. This happens alot even when I'm moving around swinging the coil.

Give this a try and go to IM-16 to be sure that there are no targets. Also, be sure all connection to the coil and box are good and tight. I would also increase the threshold up a click and see what happens. As you know the threshold should only null if "something is detected" that is set to be rejected. If that is not the case then there is a problem. (Be sure and noise cancel)
