EXP II Settings for Nugget Hunting ?

Hello all, I've only had my EXP II about a month and have found 2 gold rings, 2 silver rings and lots of coins. All this from only 2inches deep and from a park I thought was cleaned out from other MD's ! The Exp II has picked up much deeper signals, but I still feel uncomfortable digging a 12inch deep hole in a public park, I hope I didn't just walk over a diamond ring !
I'd like to look for placer gold and understand the Explorer II isn't the best for Gold Nugget Hunting but... does anyone have tips, tricks, suggestions, or books for improving my odds of finding Nuggets out in the remote Southern Nevada desert using the EXP II ? I'm I right to run in "ALL METAL" and "Deep" turned on ? Thanks..

I have never used it for nugget shooting so could only guess on this. I read your post the other day and was waiting for someone that has used it for nugget shooting to make suggestions.

Anyhow, I did not want you to think no one has noticed your post.

Hi Cody, Thanks for responding. I could see people were reading it but suspected nobody had any experience using it for Nugget Shooting.

I have also not had any experience nugget hunting with the EXII, but you might try minelabowners.com, they have a section devoted to prospecting with the minelab detectors and I think it is moderated by a well known Aussie prospector. Hope this helps.
