Exp II Service question

TxGold

New member
I was just wondering if anyone in here has ever had their Exp II serviced and/or re-calibrated by Minelab. If so, what symptoms tipped you off that indicated it needed to be serviced.

Thanks :stars:

The circuit board is digital so my guess is there is going to be no way to tune or service the detector. All they would do if minelab "serviced" it is check all the edge connectors for good connection and check for dry joints and the like. Digital circuit boards either work or they dont work!.

Only servicing other than a wash and brushup has been to the upper camlock.
But they seem to be OK these days.Jerry.

Basically if your unit is not working like it did when you first received, might want to call Minelab U.S.A....for info...other posts gave good info and why fix what ain't broke I would think. Perhaps if you gave a specific problem might help and do remember one bad solder joint can cause a lot of problems in any detetor..As far as Camlocks years ago Minelab came out with a new plastic and rectified the problem and for the most part if not abused Explorers work fine, but like any other electrical unit can malfunction so the Tech's at Minelab U.S.A. is the way to go for a specific problem..In my estimation Minelab U.S.A. is second to none when it comes to service after the sale..
