Exp II Question

1. Can the Exp. II tell the difference in a copper penny and a clad dime and a silver dime via the smart screen, the digital numbers, or the tone. Or is it all the same tone, same position on the smart screen and the same digital number. ???? I know it can tell the difference in the zinc and copper penny so zinc and dime will be different in all three ways but what about the copper penny, clad dime/silver dime.
2.Which is more sensitive to jewlery the BBS 7.5" coil or the Sunray 8" coil and which one is lighter. Which one is the Exp. II more stable with when you are in the trash, the Sunray or the BBS as I hunt alot of trash and IRON. Does the 7.5" coil for the Exp.II weight less then the 8" sunray coil.
3. When you are in the iron trash and the normal heavy trash/Iron do you switch to manual and adjust the sensitivity accordingly or do you hunt in auto. Does the Exp. II in auto have a tendency to track to the trash and the signals from the trash causing the Exp. II to get a little jumpy.
4. What kind of depth can you get on a dime with the 8" Sunray or BBS 7.5" coil with a correct ID of the coin in Mineralization of say 60 to 70, very mild down here, and which do you consider the better coil for jewlery/coins.
I am more of a jewlery hunter but when I hunt in the dirt, I hunt in the worst of the iron and the trash as you can get, as down here in SW Louisana that is where the good stuff is. So I am used to having to hunt slow and having to pick the good stuff out of the trash/Iron.
I don't have the new Exp.11 yet but I have read the spects/manual a few times and have read Andy's book about 3 times on the Old Exp. There are a few things I don't like about the Exp. so that is why I have waited till they get some of the bugs worked out of the machine. The Exp.II seems to be working out ok so I am really thinking of getting one. So I say, hell why not, right ????????
I am not a poster as I am always too busy hunting and working. I read about 4 different forums and read this one all the time.
So keep up the good Posts and thanks in advance. May All Your Days Be Filled With Gold. Later Jerry aka Tinfoil

Hey Tinfoil,
I am making the assumption that the XS2 is very very similar to the XS1 because thats what the experts are saying. I am mentioning this because I have an XS1 and I will tell you about the XS1 behaviour.
1. My machine gives off different pitches for indian heads and wheat cents. The IH's have a slightly lower pitch than a wheat cent. Silver Dimes have a higher pitch than wheat cents. Silver quarters have a higher pitch than silver Dimes. So yes, the tone is extremely accurate. The screen on the other hand not accurate all of the time. The smart screen has told me that a barber dime was trash one time, so now I go by tones only and never look at the crosshairs. Tones are very, very accurate.
3. Some experts hunt in auto, some in manual sensitivity. The experts all get silver coins anyway. I hunt in manual sensitivity and turn it way down when there is alot of trash.
4. I use the Minelab 7.5 inch coil in heavy trash. It separates out trash very well. Depth capability in super heavy trash I would take a guess at 4 or 5 inches Max. At least thats the kind of performance I have experienced with it with my SEN turned down.
I had to put in an estimated 230 hours in order to feel comfortable with the XS. I had to practice about 2 hours each week day and about 3 to 5 hours on Sat and Sun with the exeption of a couple rain days for a couple months or so. I sat down and calculated the time pretty accurately and came up with about 230 hours. But I have found alot of old coins so I feel pretty good about it. So don't expect miracle to immediately start happening the first few weeks you take it out. Just make sure you don't have the sensitivity turned up too much in trashy areas.
You should get the Sunray X-1 Target Probe as soon as posible because it will save you alot of frustration. The experts all say to get it, so get it. I got it and have found out why they are so passionate about that instrument!

Different audio's the II has it looks like you can't tell the difference between a copper penny and a clad dime on any of the screens or the audio. So will a silver dime and a clad dime tones be different and will the numbers be different or will everything be different????? A Indian down here reads and tones out like a zinc penny except for the early indians (fat indians) 1860 to 1864, they will read in the square pull tab range on other machines. So I can see where a fat indian and a regular indian will tone and read different on the smart screen from a copper penny. I am not talking about indians and Zincs .
