Exp 2 Finds

Went to old high school yesterday. Found a 925 and 14k cross, and a hand full of new coins. Last week I found the boyscout necktie holder and what looks like a R stamp for sealing wax on a letter or something. Anyone have any ideas about it? To clean the cross I used hot peroxide for about 10 minutes, then a polishing with red rouge on the buffing machine, then to the ultrasonic tank.
I have just started searching in -16, manual sens, and ferous sounds. It allows me to really turn the sensitivity up and to hear everything I pass the coil over. If its trashy I run smart find but Im sure the -16 allows more finds.

Great clean-up job on the cross... that's really a nice one.

I've started hunting in IM-16 too. I know it's noisy but somehow I prefer to hear everything. Only when it gets to be too much do I run any disc; even then, a minimal amount.

the "r" is a leather stamp,nice cross.i managed a 46 d penny,1907 indian and a 1899 dime yesterday.it was odd to have 60 degree weather here.

What you have there is a "TANDY'S" leathercraft embossing die You place a letter on a short rod and smack the end with a mallet and "presto", you are off to writing a name on genuine cowhide or some other form of leather. I'll bet the guy who lost it is having a heck of a time getting Ricky, Richard, Rosey etc spelled out. Neat find. wmike
