Exelerator coils for explorers

Has Anyone tried the New EXELERATOR Coils 14" & 18"and if so do you gain any depth increase or is it a scam??

Hi Todd,
I have the 18,12.5 and the 5 inch. I have made some great finds and the depth has not been matched by my WOT as far as the 18 goes. All coils are very sensitive and pinpoint just like my Sunrays and coilteks. I have been using the 5 inch right now alot and I am very impressed by it. Sunray makes a fine product and so does coiltek. I don't have a sunray 12 but the 5 and the 8 do a super job also. I can't say I'm impressed with the Joey coil thats why I'm selling it. I would not be afraid to purchase any of these coils and no the EXcelerator is no scam. Its not that bad swinging that 18 I find it no heavier or different then using the wot. I know all of the companies stand by their product and I have not had a problem with any of my coils I own. I hardly ever put the stock coils on and will say I don't care for the stock 8 inch its just too heavy for an 8 and I think this is why minelab is now coming out with the slimline. It took aftermarket coils to show minelab this is what us detectorist want.

Thankyou Larry for your reply as I am looking for a coil that will get me extra depth on a site that has its fair share of iron but not polluted any recomendations.

I bought a 14 inch excelerater coil when they first came out. I had to wait six weeks to get it and the first day using it I found an 1854 dime at 14 inches. Since then all the hunted out sites are once again producing coins. Great depth!

The Explorer itself will handle the iron. As far as depth goes you need to get a bigger coil, being a 12,14,15,or 18. It depends on you and where you are hunting. I can assure you its not easy working an 18 inch coil in brushy or real weedy areas. If you are in a fairly open area then go BIG. If you are hunting areas like I mentioned then you might go to a 12 or 14, its kinda like what you think you can handle in whatever situation you are facing thats exactly why so many size coils <IMG SRC="/forums/images/smile.gif" BORDER=0 ALT=":)">

Thanks very much Jim & larry for the info I think I will need to add to my Armoury.

hello there
I got also the 14" coil and just could use it once last weekend.
Very confortable to use covering much more land with the problem that I almost loose a Roman coin due some iron near by.
So very positive first impression.
Regards to all
