Excited to Disappointment

Found this quarter size token. First saw the eagle side and got excited. Turned it over and read the back. Disappointed. Has anyone else had and experience like this? HH AF

Value's all sentimental on that one, eh?

Peoples interest are varied. Probably many collectors of tokens, specialy coins, etc. exist today.
Search the web and you may be surprized what you find. That item looks old.. ya never know...
I found an old car wash token good for a free car wash in an older section of town. That car wash has been closed for 20 years. Probably valueless but an interesting and unusual find.

Sort of had a similar experience...
Found a coin-like object about the size of a quarter... flipped it over only to discover it was a button. It did have some value, though.. and it was still a fun find since in was pre 1900.

Looks nice. Some tokens are more valuable than the avg silver coin.

These are very common tokens for the arcade and those Japanese slot machines. The first one I found I thought i had something good too untill I turned it over and seen the no cash value, but still thought it may be old untill I ordered in 250 extra tokens for my Japanese slot machine and got the same exact token, only these were brand new.
In the last year I have seen many of these being posted on the fourms, so these are everywere.

I have found several Bicentennial tokens , they are similiar to those.

Here is the reverse side.
By the way, I found mine in a park in San jose California. Where did you find yours?

Ok Rudy,I bet that golden color really got you going for a few seconds. I found mine in a park in Bryant Arkansas. I got a solid reading of 74 in relic mode and it was at about 3 inches deep. I have found one more since I posted the picture and it is a lot cleaner and looks almost new. Apparently its copper. From the response I guess these things are not unusual. HH,AF

"I bet that golden color really got you going for a few seconds."
Actually, it was pretty cruddy when I pulled it out. The golden color showed up later, after cleaning it. Now, the day I pulled two (together in the same hole) $2 New Zealand golden coins,..... That really got my heart pumping.

In the last two weeks I have found over twenty of these in a park that I hunt...15 of 'em were within a 20' radius...either being given out here, or taken here...I think perhaps a carnival or something. Have found them in odd locations though. I use XLT and they always register about 73.
Happy Hunting!
